Bon Soleil TOK exhibition June 2024
Theory of Knowledge is a core component of the IB Diploma Programme that teaches students to learn the process through which knowledge is derived. Through TOK, students can question what they learn and what they claim to know. The course is based on 12 key concepts.
This week our 1º IB students have presented their exhibitions to their teachers, the class of 5ème A and the potential IB students from 2nde.
During the TOK exhibition, our DP1 students are required to present their three chosen objects that they have related to one of the 35 IA prompts (Internal Assessments prompts). These prompts are designed to encourage students to explore the nature of knowledge, critically examine different ways of knowing, and reflect on the role of knowledge in shaping our perceptions, beliefs, and values. To give you an idea of what the prompts are like, here is one of the prompts: « How can we know that current knowledge is an improvement on past knowledge? »
In conclusion, the TOK exhibition has been a significant event that has provided an opportunity for the DP students to showcase their intellectual abilities. The exhibition has helped them to develop their critical thinking and open-mindedness by making connections between their IA prompt and three chosen objects. It has required a lot of effort, and I’m sure the DP students are really satisfied to have finished the exhibition successfully.
